The conditions under which youth organisations of political parties exist allow to understand both the effects of the social and political category « youth » on political parties and the specifically partisan translations of this category. The comparison between the institutionalisation process of the youth branch of the People’s Party and that of the Young Socialists Movement helps us reassess the legal statuses under which they exist and function depending on their social, political and partisan context.
