Following a survey by questionnaire on the role of sport in the process to autonomy of adolescents in Réunion, the implementation of a comparative survey on a similar thematic among young people from South Africa revealed several methodological difficulties. These specifically include those related to the choice of the indicators of autonomy. Indeed, the transition to adolescence does not have the same meaning in a society of individuals as in another one made of communities. How then is it possible to build a subject of survey common to both societies given that paths to adulthood are different from one society to another, in terms of maturity and aims?
