Since the 1980s, several studies have documented the differentiation of professional trajectories. This differentiation includes particularities linked to the decisions and choices of actors, which can be understood in light of attitudes towards professional life. The analysis of these attitudes allows us to both increase the number of dimensions taken into account – work, employment, activity, and the professional sphere – and to bring them together within a single object, in order to refine our perspective on what is at stake and at work in these trajectories. Moreover, these aspects and combinations must be analysed within a dynamic approach. Finally, these attitudes allow us to identify qualifications or social origins at the source of a particular career path. The data is based on a qualitative longitudinal study of the trajectories of 84 young men and women, with and without qualifications, in Argentina.
