This sociological study aims to understand the place of the connected bedroom in the way in which teenagers live, experience, and define becoming “grownups”. The use of connected bedrooms reflects an identity process that takes place along two timescales: the long term of the biographical history, and the immediate present orchestrated by internet connection and practices of smartphone use. These two elements are articulated through a dynamic that reflects the trial and error of identity experimentation. Within this process, there is a movement of regular and continued updating, and the article tries to reflect this.
