Description
Founded in 1964 by the Société de Démographie Historique, the Annales de Démographie Historique publishes international research on history, or rather the stories of people as they appear today. The journal welcomes demographic studies that use precise methods and categories of analysis, approaches largely open to social history and the history of public health. And, generally, more responsive to the approaches of other social sciences, with an international perspective that takes into account cultural and national diversities.
The journal biannually publishes a thematic volume on an issue related to the history of population, family, mobility, and health. Each issue includes articles from the thematic volume, varia, and international book reviews. The only French-language journal in its field of research, the journal also welcomes English articles.
The journal is supported by the Institut des Sciences Humaines et Sociales (Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences) of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS – French National Center for Scientific Research).
