Description
Founded in 1891, the Annales de Géographie is a journal that holds a historic and central position in geographical sciences, as much for the human aspect as for the environment and spatial planning. The journal publishes six issues per year on miscellaneous topics or theme issues. For example, past titles have included “Spatial Justice,” “Trends in Cultural Geography,” “Spatial Components of Identities,” “Fielding the (Geographical) Subject,” “Sports Cultures and Geography.”
The journal also features a “News Feeds” section that clarifies some of the great challenges of the contemporary world. It also publishes book reviews, some of which under the heading “A Meeting with. . .” which features in-depth interviews with authors of significant works.
Objectives and Editorial Policies
Taking an active part in the great geographical debates, Annales de Géographie is an indispensible tool for all geographical sciences: the geography of territories, planning, the environment, and social, cultural, economic, political, and geopolitical geographies.
The journal aims to make the principal innovations of geography known, in conjunction with current scientific trends and according to the requirements of higher education. It encourages exchange and debate among researchers through themes, works, or articles.
With a view towards upholding research standards and advancing geography, the Scientific Committee of Annales de Géographie has become a vital source for suggesting thematic issues or articles. Each article is anonymously read by at least two reviewers.
