Founded in 1956 under the aegis of the CNRS, Archives des Sciences Sociales des Religions is now published by Editions de l’EHESS.
The journal has three objectives:
• Promote a comparative perspective, open to all religions and cultural areas;
• Encourage cooperation among all of the social sciences to shed light on the multiple facets of religious phenomenon;
• Welcome methodological and theoretical reflections on research topics.
The vitality of religions today and the globalization of forms of religions more than ever call upon the social sciences to examine the boundaries between disciplines and put their paradigms of religious phenomena to the test.
Archives de Sciences Sociales des Religions alternates between publishing thematic issues and bibliographic reviews. It welcomes papers that manifest the most advanced research in this field, in France and abroad. Papers may be submitted in French, English and Spanish.
