Studies about bisexual behavior in Africa are few. In 2004, a survey carried out in Senegal among 463 men who have sex with other men shows that 74% have had female partners over the past 12 months. In 2007, a qualitative study on bisexual behavior completed a second survey. Twelve interviews with men who have sex both with other men and with women, and 12 interviews with female partners highlight different types of partners and a complex link between the notion of female partner, sexuality and relation to homosexuality. The type of relation between these men and the women depends on their representation of homosexuality and their relations with other men.
