Description
Created in the fall of 1961 by Georges Friedmann, Roland Barthes, and Edgar Morin, Communications is a bi-annual thematic journal. Having become a seminal publication for the study of mass communication and semiological analyses in France, it rapidly acquired international standing. Since the 1980s, it has expanded its themes to include anthropo-social questions. Co-edited by Nicole Lapierre and Edgar Morin, the journal publishes original articles by renowned scientists as well as young researchers by opening new paths for research and giving priority to demanding cross-disciplinarity.
Issues of Communications are available online at Persée portal www.persee.fr and recent issues can be found on Cairn.
