Contraste is the journal of ANECAMSP (Association Nationale des Equipes et Centres d'Action Médico-Sociale Précoce, the French National Association of Early Medico-Social Intervention Teams and Centers). This journal focuses on topics related to children with disabilities, and it is published twice-yearly, with each issue being roughly 300 pages and focussing on a specific theme. Recent themes have included “Premature birth,” “Environment and early development,” and “Children and their families faced with genetics.”
Every issue includes three kinds of articles:
‒ Articles written by specialists on the issue’s theme. These authors are often professors and/or researchers who discuss the latest information on the theme.
‒ Articles written by professionals working in the field (doctors, psychologists, and rehabilitation therapists who work in hospitals or who otherwise provide medico-social interventions), who submit observations and treatment case studies either individually or as teams.
‒ Testimonials (from parents, adults with disabilities, associations).
Contraste is open to all lines of thinking (neuro-developmental, psychodynamic, rehabilitative, and so on), as long as they are presented without controversy.
This journal also provides analysis of recent publications about childhood and disabilities.
