This paper describes the technical and theoretical background of the McArthur Battery Story Stem. It describes the several rating schemes and gives a glance on its historical background and developments. Some new applications and possible developments are emphasised. This tool does play an important role in the assessment of emotional regulation, both for research and clinical purposes.
