The Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood (DC: 0-5) was published in the United States in 2016 by the organization ZERO TO THREE, under the direction of a Task Force chaired by Charles Zeanah. It constitutes the revised and updated version of a diagnostic classification specifically dedicated to early childhood disorders (DC: 0-3, 1994) driven by Stanley Greenspan, and revised for the first time in 2005 (DC: 0-3R) by a task force chaired by Robert Emde. The new edition of this classification, now published in French, preserves several founding principles of previous versions, but it also introduces some substantial developments. The aim of the present paper is to help future French-speaking users of this diagnostic instrument to identify its general philosophy, continuity, and changes.
