This paper focuses on the educational model of a particular fraction of wage-earning middle-class families, executives, and private sector professionals. Following two interview-based surveys conducted in a town west of Paris with a high proportion of these social categories in some neighborhoods, the educational mindsets and practices of the sample are analyzed. The pattern of analysis emphasizes the two dimensions of time and space and how they structure and are structured by the individual and collective educational behavior of the families. The conclusion emphasizes the two-way relationship between the educational model that these social categories would like to see prevail in particular local contexts and more general changes in the educational system.
