Drawing upon the results of a survey of thirty-five children aged between five and six years old from a variety of social backgrounds, this article examines the relationship between practicing sport during childhood and social inequalities in health. In spite of a high level of participation in sporting activities during childhood, this relationship remains unequal and socially distributed. The social position of the parents determines specific educational behaviors, representations, and strategies, meaning that children have different sporting experiences. This leads to an unequal distribution of attitudes that are conducive to maintaining a good state of health.
