Whether or not French companies are adapted to global capitalism is a question that is regularly posed. The International Congress on the History of Business in France was held in Paris in September 2019 to answer this question (https://businesshistory.sciencesconf.org/). The major lessons learned concerned the importance of pursuing multidisciplinary research and comparative approaches in business history as well as the fact that women are still under-represented in the field.
