Description
A peer-reviewed, generalist, academic journal with pluralist perspectives, l’Espace géographique encourages new developments in geographic research.
Since its creation in 1972 by Roger Brunet, the journal has focused on theoretical and epistemological issues in geography, specifically on modeling projects and cross-disciplinary research on complex systems. It also publishes research on spatial actors, their interests, their concerns, and their representations.
L'Espace géographique is a geographic forum with four main goals: reporting scientific research on a range of subjects, methods, and levels from the individual to the global; contributing to debates on the knowledge and practices linked to places, territories, networks, cities, and the environment; promoting the exchange of ideas between academic disciplines and creative spheres; and establishing an international presence by highlighting viewpoints and experiences that have emerged over recent decades in the scientific field.
Our editorial board, correspondents, peer reviewers, and authors are drawn from an international network of scholars and practitioners.
Belin publishes the print edition and CAIRN hosts both the French and English digital editions. Back issues (1971-2000) are available on the Persée website.
L’Espace géographique is listed on the International Geographical Bibliography database, Geo Abstracts, and the International Bibliography of the Social Sciences.
L’Espace géographique is published thanks to the support of the CNRS.
