The highly differentiated experiences of age and aging among men and women are a powerful indicator of the contemporary recomposition of gender inequalities and of their inscription in the depths of intimacy. This paper offers a comprehensive analysis of this dynamic, based on the discourse of about twenty respondents aged fifty-five to sixty-nine from all social backgrounds, living in the greater Paris area and a small south-western town of France, collected through semi-structured interviews.
