The 29th chapter of the book of Isaiah begins with the mention of the city of Ariel, which is not known elsewhere; the toponym is simply transliterated in the Septuagint. The author suggests nevertheless to give to this Greek word another meaning than the one unanimously given to the Hebrew term.
