There is currently a growing interest in the “Age-Friendly Cities and Communities” approach, disseminated by the World Health Organization. Recent research has focused on the empowerment dynamics and inclusive potential of such projects. This article investigates the “age-friendly approach” implemented by the French “communauté de communes” of Pays de Mormal since 2016. Based on a participatory research informed by group analysis, this article shows how “seniors” in this territory experience an inclusive process. This process is rooted in the discovery of new situations, as pointed out by the reflexivity that “seniors” have on their actions and problems. This collective experimentation process is based on a form of confrontation with reality inherent to democratic work.
