Everywhere in the North and the South Americas, collective action is redefined in a mix of economic development and democracy at the local level. Lack of democracy, exclusion and more competition between countries have been the consequence of the crisis and the rise of capitalist globalization. But the crisis has also liberated a new space for collective action and social transformation: a new citizenship take place with, for example, the Community Development Corporations (CDC) in United States and Canada or with the «popular economic organizations» in Latin America. Because there is, specially in South America, co-production of services (access to water, electricity...) in partnership with the local governements. Its becoming what we can consider to be a «first development». With a new perspective: it’s a work within internacional networks of solidarity.
