Knowledge formats, both material and immaterial, outline the orientations of classification activities and encyclopedic projects. Today, our minds share the classification and encyclopedic approach with the digital world. Building encyclopedias has become central to social practices that are delineated by dynamic knowledge classification activities. The current reconfiguration of knowledge formats raises questions about the meaning of the encyclopedic approach in the fragmented context of digital information.
