English
Contrary to conventional wisdom, the All-English option is no longer a solution for the future but an outdated one, if ever it was a solution. In an interconnected and multipolar world, communicating via one lingua franca only, even if it is a “global” language as English is now supposed to be, is no longer the order of the day. In the age of globalization, what is required is a plurilingual approach, something that the English-speaking world is now advocating as it is aware of the importance of developing new linguistic interfaces, notably with the Romance languages, whose growing geopolitical power draws upon a billion speakers throughout the world.
