Since Plato, communication has been included within the purview of all metaphysical undertakings. Current technology, which has inherited this concern, supposes that it is able to realize what earlier philosophers could only imagine. However, the failure of these technologies shows that there is a fundamental impossibility, one that probably explains the continuing effort of metaphysics to establish a continuity among all realities by means of technology; this actually involves a destructuring that is tantamount to a form of incommunication. Is this incommunication precisely the proof of the resistance to the pretensions of technology? Is it the source of our thinking?
