Description
The journal Histoire Urbaine is the voice of the Société Française d’Histoire Urbaine. Since its creation in 2000, it publishes research that assists in the understanding of urban history in France and the world.
Histoire Urbaine is the only historical journal in France devoted to the urban world from antiquity to the present day both in Europe and elsewhere. Published primarily in French, but also in other languages, it welcomes the work of French and foreign academicians of any discipline, and chronologic or geographic focus that treats the historicity and other aspects of urban reality: economic, social, political, and cultural. HU has an international reading committee and a large panel of French and foreign reviewers. It publishes three issues per year, containing approximately ten papers of general or thematic focus presented in feature sections: Special Report, Studies, Research Project, Sources, Critical Reviews, and Book Reviews. All papers are accompanied by abstracts in French and English.
