As a contribution to reduce class-blindness, we propose, based on a set of methodological and temporally homogeneous surveys, to evaluate and compare empirically the four most used nomenclatures by sociologists in Brazil. Therefore, we adapt to the Brazilian statistical information the multidimensional test model established by the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee) to evaluate different prototypes of the nomenclature European Socio-economic Groups (ESeG).
