Description
Founded in 1961 by Émile Benveniste, Pierre Gourou, and Claude Lévi-Strauss, edited by Gregory Delaplace and Isabel Yaya McKenzie, the journal L’Homme. Revue française d’anthropologie gathers multiple research themes in anthropology in its broadest sense, while not neglecting the interdisciplinary approach.
With an international audience, this journal publishes original research by French and foreign researchers. It combines theoretical texts, critical essays, and ethnographic studies in an effort to understand both what is near and far away, to report on new findings, to reevaluate the traditional domains of anthropology such as descent or ethnomusicology, and to present new methods of investigating social and cultural facts.
The column “On the Subject of…” offers a place for debate and the exchange of ideas; the “Reviews” section dedicates a large space to the thorough discussion of recent publications.
