Since its founding in 1958, La Psychiatrie de l’enfant has published a biannual collection of texts on psychopathology and therapeutics in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Created by psychoanalysts, La Psychiatrie de l’enfant draws originality from both decidedly psychoanalytic orientation and interest in all knowledge on children provided by specialists in such diverse fields as neuropsychology, biology, genetics, sociology, and pedagogy. Multidisciplinary in content and international in the choice of authors, La Psychiatrie de l’enfant is placed at the crossroads of many explorations of the child and adolescent psyche.
In each volume, “Clinical Briefs,” “Methodologies and Techniques,” and “Social Psychiatry and Support Issues” sections bring together original work. Authors come from various fields (psychiatry, psychoanalysis, psychology, sociology, history, etc.) and schools of thought. The articles are long enough to permit authors to contribute a general presentation of their personal views, research results, and clinical materials and methods.
In addition to the articles, which are often psychoanalytical in nature, the “Critical Reviews of Current Issues” offer readers (doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health professionals, youth workers, speech therapists, social workers) an accurate view of current trends in child psychiatry.
