Compliance with fundamental ethical principles in terms of human health now requires a return to the primary interests of the individual. Ethical "ideals" cannot be achieved through the simple technical application of advancements in knowledge as some might have thought. On the contrary, given the exponential development of these applications, which may also serve commercial, industrial, or financial interests, it is essential to refocus our concerns on the perception each of us has of our accession to welfare and fulfillment during an existence shared with our contemporaries.
