This article presents the implementation of an archiving project and the use of the fund set up for research. We first present the collaborative approach and the process of archiving the documentation accumulated by the Association of Victims of the Paris-Opéra Hotel Fire (AVIPO) during its activities and mobilizations since its creation in 2005. In 2019, thanks to the partnership’s classification work with the relevant actors, activists, archival professionals and researchers, the AVIPO archives were deposited in La contemporaine thanks to the support of the Collaborative Institute on Migration. The AVIPO fund deposited at the Contemporary opens many historical and sociological research avenues (forms of mobilization; relationship to justice and with institutions; migration pathways; gender perspective).
