This article shows how issues of collapse are gaining ground in professional and personal trajectories, even if the functioning of the social sciences and the university tend to raise obstacles to its taking into account. Perspectives emerge—beyond the redeployment of research questions around movements wishing to avert collapse, they oscillate between un-resigned pessimism, attentive to issues of relocalization, and direct involvement in new ecologist movements.
