Activity and employment cooperatives (cae) have, for twenty years, constituted a rich model providing a response to the risks of employment insecurity. Basing their project on the emancipation of the people who join them, they are a hybrid form that reconciles wage labor and entrepreneurship established on the principles of a community of workers who are both autonomous and supportive. The collective constitutes one of its founding pillars but it is not enough to develop a shared company founded on the links created between its members.Contribution relies in particular on a research-action-training approach conducted as a response to the difficulties encountered by cae members of the cpe network (Cooperate to Create a Business) following the obligation to forge links imposed on wage-earning business people by the ess Law of 2014. We must identify the reasons for these difficulties and the levers that would allow us to activate both the political and economic ambition of the cae in a stronger way.
