Today, professional coaching is no longer a short-lived trend but a common practice used by companies in many situations. Arranging individual coaching for an employee recovering from burnout, because of its complexity, raises the question of the purpose and methods of adaptive coaching. The aim of this article is to explore the conditions and steps required to set up alternative coaching that would complement the psychological and medical treatment carried out by professionals in that field—coaching focused on the realities of work that favors an exploration of the organizational context and makes it easier to access a sense of meaning and power to act.
