This article focuses on the coherence of development policy, using French migration and co-development policies in Mali as a case study. The genesis and history of Malian migration to France are described, as well as the impact of French migration policies on the volume and composition of Malian migratory flows. French co-development is then discussed a way to integrate development and migration policies, and its global coherence assessed.
