Professionnal politics is receiving a lot of negative press. In the media, in social movements and even within the political sphere, career elected officials are facing regular abuse. The article reveals the growing number of former political advisers among French members of Parliament. More importantly, it highlights how the number of years spent in politics has increased for all elected officials. Nowadays, the longer you’ve been in politics, the best chance you stand of gaining access to national responsibilities.
