The Google Street View service is a huge visual online database, documenting urban landscapes. This kind of project raises questions about the reconfiguration of actors behind the processes of recording and archiving. A socio-semiotic approach and the point of view of certain artists on the materiality of the photographic recording process make it possible to see beyond what is first shown by the service, paying attention to the singularity, resistance, and plasticity.
