After having lived in a world buoyed up by the idea of progress that promised “kingdoms without Apocalypse”, humanity today prognosticates quite rationally its own end and envisions a world without humans, an “Apocalypse without Kingdom”. In these circumstances, the continuity of time that guaranteed the possibility of consolation is shattered. Following the red thread of visions of the world generated by the Anthropocene and collapsology, we see that human hope no longer seems open to a collective outcome. Although these Apocalypse-revelations endeavour to make the world fairer and more welcoming, nonetheless each individual is now imprisoned in his or her solitude with, as the ultimate perspective, only an inhabited transcendence.
