The aim of this research is to define the concept of common language within small international companies, according to the principles of the Socio-Economic Approach to Management (SEAM). This research took place in a small international company established in China, France, Thailand and Vietnam, where we studied the level of knowledge and use of a common company language. Our results allow us to observe: a) the impact of the hierarchical position on the knowledge and use of the common language and b) the need to formalize a shared terminology in the company.
