Description

Founded in 2002 by Professor Alain Leroux (Université de la Méditerranée), directed by Alain Marciano and Emmanuel Picavet starting in 2007, and then by Emmanuel Picavet and Gilles Campagnolo as of 2015, the Revue de la Philosophie Économique intends to contribute to the structure of the field of economic philosophy by supporting the development and distribution of fundamental and applied research in the field and to consolidate its recognition within the scientific division of labor.

The first French journal devoted to this discipline, the Revue de Philosophie Économique publishes studies that use a rational, critical, and solidly formulated approach to the philosophical issues raised by economic activity and by our understanding of it. These studies specifically contribute to sounding out the foundations and procedures of economic analysis and its relationship to social and institutional life. The reflections, studies, and analyses born of this philosophical questioning of the economy can be classified in one of the following three categories: social philosophy and economic policy of institutions, moral philosophy and normative economy, and philosophy and methodology of the sciences in relation to economics. In the three cases, the interaction between the philosophical sciences and the economy appear determinant for the progress of analyses and knowledge.
