This article is a short comment on A. Caillé’s “Dead Professors Society Manifesto”. The main concern is to resist the destruction of University. But in the Japanese academic world there is no humanist tradition and all knowledges are already separated, torn apart, parcelized and privatized. There is no possibility of bettering this situation, so that, out of my jail for anti-utilitarian teachers all I can say to French academics is “Hail and good luck.”
