What is the problem with environmentalism ? Why is that the environmental turn is so hard to take ? This article argues in the line of an opinion that is often heard but rarely duly discussed, that is that it questions modernity itself. The question of the universalization of a lifestyle is synthetically discussed with respect to the distinction between developed and under-developed countries.
