The link between employment and social protection on which the social protection system was built in France is being tested today. The rise of platform capitalism has in fact highlighted the risk of social exclusion of people participating in the so-called collaborative economy. This exclusion is largely due to the compartmentalization of social protection schemes. While it is certainly necessary to remedy this, the question remains of how to do it. In particular, how can the right to social protection be effectively guaranteed without jeopardizing the system which is supposed to ensure it? Whether one thinks of applying a new basis to social law or one wishes to give the individual the means to ensure his subsistence, the legal devices supposed to realize these plans are studied with the greatest ambivalence and the most varied conceptions of the social world of which they are the pillars. The analysis of reforms and reform proposals attests to this.
