CAIRN-INT.INFO : International Edition

Description

Revue Historique, founded by Gabriel Monod in 1876, covers the entire discipline of history, from antiquity to modern times, in various fields of research. It is open to interpretations of different historical schools, with no exception, provided that subjects are treated with the scientific rigor they deserve. The journal’s identity is based on a methodical treatment of sources and an appeal to the humanities and social sciences, bringing a renewal to historical approaches. The purpose of this generalist perspective is to pass on acquired knowledge and recent research in the field of history.

The journal publishes previously unpublished articles that, in selected volumes, are grouped around a common theme. It also publishes Miscellany, which often involve the reviewing of historic issues in light of recent works, as well as many critical reviews. The editorial committee ensures the journal’s scientific quality and relies on the expertise of the best French and international specialists. It also seeks to publish both young historians and experienced researchers.
