People nowadays expect perfection—e.g., full control and transparency of action and its results. These two desires are accompanied by a growing moralism which serves its own objectives of justice. It is worth re-learning the ancient Greek concept of “neutrality“ in order to reacquaint ourselves with the meaning of temperance and the related sense of risk.
