Strategic management research has developed an art that it has consumed to excess: that of talking about nothing. And especially not subjects that might cause offense. This is how it became inaudible: because it had nothing to say, nothing to propose, nothing to suggest, nothing to impel. Nothing. Of course, people will say that we are exaggerating. That this is a caricature. Obviously, they will be right. But still, it is this feeling that led the author to engage in scientific adventures of a new kind: the trial that opposed Jérôme Kerviel against Société Générale. The following logbook, kept in 2011 and 2012, records this commitment, delivered as is, unaltered, just with a note added in 2018. It describes the investigation as it is carried out, away from the usual methodological paragraphs, the construction of a voice, the difficulties of reflexivity and performativity. It says what the author is capable of saying, armed with management science, about his path.
