The Portuguese community in Île-de-France is the subject of twenty films, in the past forty years, but never a sociologist sight was token over this corpus of work, at the same time, documental and creative. A contemporary lecture of this filmography is about to be developed, through a series of interviews with the directors and a couple of collective watching before a discussion with the groups concerned in each movie projected. This will allow a better understanding of the encounters between the actors and the researchers, to rebuild the process of identity construction of the Portuguese in France and discover a common imaginary, including a shared conception of cinema.
