This article approaches the production of images in qualitative research as work that parallels but also sustains a singular view of the survey situation. The method for proceeding with image production is photo-ethnography, which, with images, contextualizes the object of study, graffiti, in its place of meaning, urban space. This interdisciplinary relation between sociology and communication is close to a visual sociology through observation of communicative relations in an urban tribe: the graffiti artists.
