This article attempts to analyze, from a pragmatic perspective, the procedure of recognizing « miracles » in Lourdes. On the basis of a concrete case of a declaration of cure, it attempts to bring to light the investigative work necessary for a « miracle » to be proclaimed. In particular, it highlights the evidence processes that allow doctors to pronounce on the « inexplicable » character of the cure and then to establish (or not) its « supernatural » character in the Church.
