Autrepart is a peer-review journal co-edited by the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) and the Presses de Sciences Po. It has the goal of promoting reflection on societies in the South to gain a better understanding of their contemporary dynamics and to demonstrate their diversity. As the effects of globalization relativize the autonomy of States, intranational and international inequalities have grown, and major changes are affecting State policies as well as the very nature of institutions. The ways in which societies in the South react and adapt to these changes are at the heart of this journal’s concerns. The transversal nature of the topics examined encompasses texts from a variety of disciplines in the social sciences.
