Description
Espaces et Sociétés is an interdisciplinary, international and francophone peer-reviewed journal in the field of social sciences and humanities.
Its aim is to offer a synthesis arising from multiple disciplinary approaches on the relationship linking societies with their spaces and/or territories.
At its birth, in 1970, it was defined as a “critical and international journal on planning, architecture and urbanization”. The journal is open to a large variety of scientific disciplines, it organizes their confrontation and it brings its contribution to the debates in this field, either arising from research or from practice.
The Editorial Board is responsible for the evaluation and selection of submitted papers, with the active support of its International Board of Referees. The Board of Directors is responsible for the editorial policy.
Every issue includes a call for papers, a themed section (some two thirds of the issue), a book review section, including thematic reviews and shorter reviews. Once a year, there is a “controversy”, i.e. a section dedicated to exploring diverging or opposing views on a current controversial issue.
