CAIRN-INT.INFO : International Edition

Description

“The journal Gérontologie et Société is a forum for the expression, meeting, and dissemination of academic and non-academic knowledge on old age and ageing.” These are the words of Paulette Guinchard, former president of France’s National Foundation for Gerontology (Fondation Nationale de Gérontologie), which was responsible for the journal’s creation in 1972 and its publication until the organization’s disbandment in 2013. Since 2015, the National Old-Age Pension Fund (Caisse nationale d’assurance vieillesse, CNAV) has taken on the publishing of the journal, producing three issues a year.

Our editorial policy remains faithful to this definition, ensuring that articles from different disciplines (or resulting from interdisciplinarity) are published. It aims to provide readers with articles that have a solid basis in their professional or disciplinary field, but which are also accessible to non-specialists, thus fostering dialogues between political, managerial, or professional decision-making and research.

The journal is indexed in the Inist, BDSP, SantéPsy, and PASCAL databases.
